Hello family
This last week was really busy for us, Tuesday we had 3 interviews in 2 different areas far away that took alot of time. Wednesday was zone class in the morning Thursday we went to Aldama, a town about 2 hours away, in the morning and didnt get back to the until 4 so we were fretting just a little how we hadnt been spending enough time in our area to really work it and produce results, but i tried trusting that even though we had other responsibilities to attend to , God was going to bless us and help us out.
Friday in the morning I remembered i hadn't tried doing a really specific prayer for about a week and decided that I had to do it, so I prayed hard and told God that we were going to do the activities that we had planned to do so i said "let it be that as we are in search for these contacts, we find a house with the door open and possibly music playing, let it be that a lady or person is elect that will go to church this weekend and could be baptized in this change"
So as we left the house, I told my companion that I had made this prayer and that we should look for it as we are working. As we arrived in the colonia , we went looking for the investigator and she wasnt home so we started our journey for the contacts we had planned as the back up plan. and it wasnt more than 10 houses down the same street that I seen a door open so I ran up to it and said good afternoon and there was a lady inside washing clothes, we offered to help she said no and came out to shake our hands (her name is Carmen) and said she didnt have time she had to pick her kid up from school at 12:45pm and I seen my watch 12:15pm so i said " well how about if talk for a half hour and come back another time" she accepted and we sat down and taught to her needs basing ourselves in the first lesson and she liked it. at the end we invited her to a baptismal service that same day at 6pm and we offered to swing by and take her there and she said yes so when we came back at 5pm, (cuz our church is about 4omin away) she was there waiting for us in a dress and her 14 yr old son dressed up as well in a white shirt. We went she liked it and we set a return appt. for Saturday at the same time and when we came back she read the assignment of the introduction of the Book of Mormon and the testimonies of the witnesses and Joseph Smith, she had a few doubts we answered her questions and she was just loving everything and making really good comments and said " if someone wants to join your church, how long would they have to wait to be able to join?" and we said "you mean to be baptized?" and she said "yes" we gave her a brief explanation that not that long ya just need to have desires and know the basics and go to church a few times and be commited to stay so she says ok and then we put the baptismal date for the 31st of march and she accepted it and then started to say stuff like " oh ive known ive needed to do this for a long time, to be baptized but now i think its the moment, and ive been waiting for this, im older now and its time, I just want to be sure about it" so we invited her to church and congradulated her and bore testimony and shes really excited so we set up the return appt. and leaving we found an hna. member and we had her come to the house of Carmen to present herself and offer to give her a ride to church on sunday and so they said theyd do it and come Sunday morning there was Carmen and her son in the chapel with the member family that drove them to church and she loved the services and afterword told Elder Snow that she loves the idea about the young mens program and wants her son Fransisco to be part of it and she is excited to come back next week. and were pretty sure that if she gets baptized, her 14 yr old son will as well, maybe the same day or the 7th.
Thats the main idea of the story, there are lots more cool stuff she has told us about how basically God has prepared her for this moment to know the Gospel, this experience has strengthened alot our testimonies of praying with faith and not doubting and after making the prayers of faith, going after every opportunity that is presented so that the promise is completed, cuz God will put his part in completing his promises, if it is that we have faith in him. He is a God of miracles and we just have to be determined to have the faith and follow Him.
So thats the basics of the many experiences were having with specific prayers and were looking forward with lots of enthusiasm and faith towards what is to come in our area and in the zone, trying to help all experience the same marvelous works God can do.
Were having fun and working hard and seeing some success so life is great, our zone is getting a good start off as well we have 3 weeks left in the change.
