2 weeks of May

May 23,
We are still together, which is good, we get along well and are doing well together, Elder Ortega is probably my favorite companion I’ve had in the field. We had zone conference Wednesday it was awesome, we watched a talk that Jeffery R Holland gave in the mtc in January, it was great and powerful like all of his talks when he gets emotional talking about missionary work. There are so many things that you learn in the mission if you open your eyes and your heart, like they say and which I do believe, that you learn the same amount in 2 years than being a normal member could learn in 20, you learn your real purpose of life, even though everyone says that "knows" the gospel says that, but if you havent served God, you dont know the "real" purpose of life.

I am very complacido with the missionary work Maisie is doing, I give her a shout out. and I expect to hear more from all yall. We found quite a few people this week and put a few baptismal dates, when President gets an idea, he has it until its accomplished and we’re all still fixed on the idea to baptize every week, and what President’s new vision is to start baptizing 500 every change before the end of the year, and it would be realized if everyone baptized at least 1 a week and right now the last change as a mission we baptized 126 and the change before 138 but that is about double than it was a year ago, President Call is tearing the mission up, they used to call it the Mision Mexico Tanfrito instead of Tampico for how bad it was about two years ago and before that, and he has changed it about 180 degrees and improving it more.

But ya its awesome, the life is awesome and God really has his servants working in his vineyard for the last time, and wouldn’t it be great if everyone was on board doing their part. Well Maisie so far is the winner of sharing the gospel, the little girl is beating out everyone at home, I expect things to change and pick up there, stretch forth thine hands to those who are low in spirit and bring them to church. and I love you all have a great week, and be grateful for the water, everyone here in Mante are complaining how hot it is and how there isn’t any rain.
love you all

Yeah sometimes I do get caught up in hitting the homer, and that basically the concept that president has been telling us to do for around the last 3 changes-ish, that we just need to be consistent, finding people and staying obedient and planning our time better to bring to pass all the necessities the people would need to be baptized, but its great.
Some of the things that have marveled me the most about the mission is the greatness of God, like the book of mormon says in the first page that its here to convince the jew and the gentile that Jesus is the Christ, and later I read in the morning in 3 nefi 24 ish that God will start a work so great that the Gentiles will have to believe in him and if they believe in him and repent and all that they’ll be counted into the fold, basically, and its true, God is working to prepare his children to recieve the Gospel, and that’s what he wants, its his work and his glory, so that his children can return with him. We had two people that found us this week and want us to teach them and one of them told us basically that he wants to be baptized because it would save him and his family being split up, which is the truth. Its awesome every time God gives a little blessing like that, that he puts his children in our camino and they tell us they want to acercarse mas con èl. God is great. its like your song ¨the wheels in the sky keep on turning¨ The wheels of God keep on turning and is going on and on and on and....on , as Children we need to figure out who we are and what we are doing fulfill our purpose in this life to help others and when we help others , we help ourselves because we prepare ourselves more to comparecernos antes de Dios, so its great
Have a good one
Elder Hobbs
