Im here in Tantoyuka, Veracruz. This city is small, and there s alot of ranches outside of the city. The people here are more indiginous, they're more native and there´s alot more native sculptures, leather work and basketry stuff. All the other places I've gone is basically new modernization, but here is still a little more authentic. Theres alot of hills, hills hills hills you go up one to go down to the other to go up again, there is no flat area. and it makes life a little bit harder. Its been pretty fun to be back together, weve been reminiscing about the good ole times in el Mante the people the area the good times. I think it has helped me to go with Elder Ortega, so I haven't been so homesick of my ward and families in Mante. President Call wrote us both this week that he doesn't know why he put us together but he felt good about it, that we were together. we live in a building on the third floor and above us is a gym, and its the only area in the mission that its permitted to go to gym, so I might be able to huge again, lifting weights, we went this morning and it was weird being in a gym after 15 months without going. I didnt quite know what to do.
Mexico celebrated their independencia day, it was cool, there was a ward activity in the church, alot of food and actually a good number of people showed up. an hna. in Mante sewed Elder Ortega and I a tie of the Mexican flag before I left, they re good loooking. There were fire works in the noche and we live right by the main plaza of the city so they were blowing off in our house and i figured out that there arent laws about fireworks and firesafety. They were launched where everyone was at.
Yesterday was my second time this month talking in church, i talked about a few experiences that growing up on the farm alongside grandpa helped us know and understand grandpa more than others could have and how its the same with our Father in Heaven, that in his service is the only way to come as close as you can to Him and to understand His plan and our true purpose. We went to the house of an investigator this week, but she wasn't home and we taugth her 17 yr old kid that supposedly has had problems being rebelious and put a fecha with him and the next day we came back to check the compromiso and he had read it really well and liked it and when we ended the lesson the mom showed up and the grandma and they had made us food thats called ´´mole´´ its a food that everyone makes and is supposedly for special ocasions and when we asked why they made us the food the grandma told us that her grandkid has rebelled but now hes changed and is listening to us. it was funny. But I know that God wants His children to come unto Him and that he is the Master of everything going on, He just works according to our faith as His children.
We had some other really good experiences this week, as well as bad ones, but I'm excited and know we can do alot here in Tantoyuka. Pday is going to be on Wednesday instead of Monday starting the next week so dont call Pres. Call if you dont get an email until Wednesday haha. Supposedly there's going to be alot of new changes in the mission, but the zone leaders havent told us all of them. We're living here 4 in the house again and there is an elder here from Arizona named elder Merril and has a I don't know how many greats grandfather and maybe its great grandma Sarah´s dad who knows, he knows the name of the guy, its like Filemon or some f name.
well have a great week and love life, and serve God
